In 2017, Bergstrom launched the classic rooftop parking cooler PK2000 in China, which provided a choice for trucks with roof hatches; in 2008, to fit the Japanese heavy truck market, a back-mounted parking cooler was successfully developed and made. In 2020, Bergstrom will bring a unique high-end integrated back-mounted parking cooler UK2020 to the Chinese market for truck models without roof hatches.

UK2020 back-mounted parking cooler was designed based on the following 6 principles:
I. Maintain the concept of central air conditioning in the cab, i.e. no split system, making the cab as comfortable as the ones in Europe and America;
II. While fitting the truck models with no roof hatch, the unit should require no drilling in the installation;
III. Higher cooling capacity, lower noise level, and long running time;
IV. Shortest installation time with fewest installers;
V. Completely solve the commonly seen problems of refrigerant leakage at broken hoses and water leakage of indoor unit in the current parking cooler market.
VI. Truly all DC without an inverter.

Just like when shopping for a new home, move-in ready ones are the best while drilling holes is not desirable.

UK2020 regards the driver's new truck as its new home, and it will never drill a hole in the truck. Bergstrom engineers skillfully created the patented technology of rear window flexible suspension and designed an air duct type system. They also designed various installation kits in order for UK2020 to fit major truck models.

A new truck costs hundreds of thousands of yuan and most of the work and life of the truckers take place in the cab which is less than 6 sqm. If calculated by area, the price per square meter in the truck cab will be over 50K CYN (approx. 7.1K USD), comparable to the housing prices of the first-tier cities in China.

Unlike the split systems, Bergstrom UK2020's unique “integrated back-mounted parking cooler” design does not take up the slightest room in the cab. Every inch of the space saved will contribute to the spaciousness of the cab, which leads to comfortable living and quiet sleep.

In the R&D process, Bergstrom UK2020 fully utilized its advanced engineering and validation system and facilities on its global platform. UK2020 completed and passed the vehicle environmental chamber test, the most strenuous 26G compressor vibration test, and 12,000 km durable test track running at the national Anhui Dingyuan Vehicle Test Site. Based on the desirable performances in the professional tests, UK2020 has been approved by several OEMs to be factory-installed in their trucks.
